Release the front leg from the base by pressing the button on the inside of the base and pulling up. Fold the leg under the tray and then rotate the tray downward. To complete the fold, release the rear legs from the base by pressing the vertical release buttons on the inside of the base. For more detail (with illustrations) you can pull up the instruction booklet from the Customer Service page of the Kolcraft website. Under "Instructions" find the "SW004" in the drop down menu and you can open the instruction booklet. Question

Removing friction pads?

My son is having trouble maneuvering on our carpeted floors. I've found that removing the friction pads help a great deal in improving his mobility. However, I do have my doubts, is removing the friction pads recommended? Thanks

We do not recommend removing the friction pads under the base. Those are placed there to prevent the walker from moving down steps. They are required by safety standards. Thank you.

There is a seat pad adjustment on the bottomside of the seat. You can lower the seat pad so that children can reach the floor. If your child still doesn't reach the floor, please contact our Customer Service Department at 800.453.7673. Thank you.

You should convert the Elmo Tiny Steps to a walk-behind once your child begins to walk on their own. The walk-behind should help provide stability when they begin to take those first steps on their own.
