answer 1
All Sealy crib mattresses, including the Sealy Baby Posturepedic Crown Jewel are designed with an airflow pocket located on the bottom gusset to help maintain freshness. Sealy crib mattresses utilize this airflow pocket and avoid using small metal airhole vents punched into the crib mattresses as they may become dislodged as potentially pose a small parts risk to infants and toddlers. Most crib mattresses and adult mattress on the market today no longer use these metal parts as they are unnecessary small parts, especially if there is a safer alternative like an airflow pocket designed and engineered into the mattress.
The embossed cover is an antibacterial vinyl laminate and is soft and durable. Depending on your budget you can choose from mattress covers in the Sealy line with laminate covers, woven fabric, or natural fabrics and they each have a different feel to them, but ultimately all are safe for use for babies.
